Like most of us, I know too many people whose lives have been touched by cancer. That’s why I’ve joined with the American Cancer Society to help save lives by participating in the Relay For Life of Bethany, Orange, and Woodbridge.
Relay is about so much more than just walking around a track overnight. During the Survivors Lap, which kicks off each Relay, we celebrate loved ones who have won their battle against cancer. Later, after darkness falls, we remember those who are no longer with us with the Luminaria Ceremony. It is quite a moving sight - hundreds of glowing bags all bearing the names of people who have faced a cancer diagnosis.
I will be participating on June 1st at the High Plains Community Center in Orange with my swimming and diving team. I am working hard to collect as many donations as I can so the American Cancer Society can meet its growing requests for rides to and from treatment, wigs, free lodging at its Hope Lodges, and other services that help ease the burden for cancer patients and their families. In addition, donations fund groundbreaking research that helps unravel cancers' causes and cures.
If you would like to help me raise money to fight this disease, please use the link below to make a donation on my personal page. Thank you for your consideration. If you'd like more information, just ask. Together we can save lives from cancer and create a world with more birthdays!
